Drop Cloth Outdoor Curtains

I decided I wanted to redo our screen porch, I wanted a porch like "http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/.  She has the most amazing screen porch and deck!  So I finally got my husband on board with this, we needed to redo the screens anyway so this worked perfect.

He took all of the old screen down and I painted all of the wood white, (I had a picture of the before on my old computer, notice I said OLD!!!!  IT DIED! Just a blue screen appeared and no one could save it.) I then painted the floor, and then added all the furniture back into the space once everything had dried.  I then thought I need curtains.  I looked online and could not possibly pay the price they were asking for outdoor curtains.  SO........I decided to buy drop cloths and make some outdoor curtains.

I bought the green outdoor fabric for the top of the curtains and just sewed that fabric to the drop cloth.  Easy Peasy!!!  For the rod we bought a plastic electrical rod (I know there is a technical name for it but not sure of it) and just hung it on hooks, so they are easy to take down if need be.  I then went to Joann's and used my 50% coupon and bought curtain clips to hang my new curtains.

I love having the curtains outside, I can close them when the sun is shining in my eyes or if I want to take a nap and no one find me.  :)  In this last picture is my lamp made for outdoors that I got last year at Home Depot on clearance for almost nothing.  That is great when you are outside late at night listening to nature or enjoying friends.
